I recently purchased a Buescher Aristocrat tenor sax for my 14yr old daughter. She wanted an older sax but not too old because of price for one and also, from what we’ve read, the finger action on older ones seem to be harder (or at least different) for someone her age. The 62 can be pretty bright depending on your disposition and the era of the sax. The 82Z is a darker sound than the 62 and blows a lot freer than the SX90. I was watching a video of Chad LB where he was using his SYOS signature mouthpiece and he sounded fabulous on it.The transposition is tough as well. The Alto Sax is in G. When it is three hours into a gig, some one requests a tune on the big flute on the stand, and you have had three or four Guinnesses, then tell me how well you can transpose a lead sheet into the key you need to be successful on Alto Sax.
